HPI is now GIS enabled. All graphical and Smart Objects have a Geo-tag which enable the designers to work easier with assets that have known coordinates. Geo tags enable visualization of such assets to be effortless, precise and dynamic. Automatic engineering (adding an asset to the database), fault location, fleet management and tracking applications developed on the HPI platform hugely benefit from this new and powerful feature.

HPI has new topology processing capabilities. The HPi graphics editor can now handle objects with ports and hence can automatically detect and recognize the topology (connectivity of the elements) on a page. By using this feature, HPI is able to perform color highlighting in electrical (single line) diagrams or pipelines showing different aspects of the networks with dedicated colors and enabling efficient visualization of the complex networks.

HPI has been integrated with a Security Information/Incidents and Event Management System (SIEM). HPI-SIEM integration would gather Operational Technology (OT) events from PLCs, RTUs, FEPs, and other OT-related equipment in a plant as well as IT events which could be received from IT components such as Operating Systems, Applications, Databases, and so on. Collection, normalization and correlation of these two event types (i.e., IT and OT) results in gaining a deep insight into threats which could be parts of a staging attack and in preventing simple threats from converting to Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs).
